This being my 40th birthday year, I mentioned to a good friend (Stephen Alexander) that I'd like to be fit enough to run a marathon! He'd already entered into the Marathon to raise money and awareness of the Prince's Trust so I said I'd train with him to help motivate him and to help get myself back into shape after a year out of training whilst I've focussed on growing the business!

Little did I realise that through fate, destiny or divine intervention, one of Stephen's team members would drop out of the running (pardon the pun) today and leave a vacant spot for a runner! Less than 2 hours after agreeing to be Stephen's training partner for the next 3 months, the phone rings again and there's Stephen all chirpy breaking the good news :-)

Of course I said yes without hesitating! When have I ever been accused of being sane anyway?

So, my challenge now is to get fit, get in shape and get ready for a full marathon in under 3 months. I know I love a challenge and the opportunity to do something to give back but even by my standards, this is nuts!

To be honest, I can't wait and am really looking forward to the training, the discipline and the build up to the whole event!

I'm going to be setting up a sponsorship page through the Virgin Giving Money website very soon so will be sending everyone an update and asking you to sponsor me and Stephen in our endeavours.
